Eyeing up the industry
26 June 2008
Procurement and travel managers can benefit from valuable industry insight and guidance following BSI’s launch of a series of new publications, including white papers, known as Industry Eye™, industry guides, called The Brief™, and a new quarterly e-zine, The Hive.
Acting as a comprehensive guide to specific industry topics or issues, Industry Eye – Maximum Security is the first white paper to be published, sponsored by BSI and independently written focusing on traveller safety and security – a subject that has been high on the business travel agenda since 9/11. An authoritative, 5,000 word guide to research undertaken in this area, Maximum Security looks at what UK companies are doing in light of the new Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act which renders them liable for the wellbeing of their employees, whether travelling across the Atlantic or around the UK’s motorway network.
In addition, BSI has launched its first ‘The Brief™’, an essential guide to writing a tender. Designed as a vital quick reference guide for those new to purchasing accommodation, meeting space or event management services, this guide provides essential knowledge on a number of key topics, the first guide in the series is ‘RFPs Without Tears’.
RFPs Without Tears is a concise, but essential guide to writing a tender. Laid out in a easy to understand Q&A format, unlike the RFP process, this overview could save valuable time and money.
As part of BSI’s own sustainability policies, both Industry Eye and The Brief publications are available in PDF format only, and will be available to download, free of charge from a special ‘resources’ section on the various new group websites.
BSI has also launched The Hive™ - a new quarterly electronic magazine of the BSI group of companies. Every quarter, The Hive will be distributed to 20,000 procurement directors, buyers and meeting planners across the UK and Europe. Divided up into seven self-contained zones, each filled with specialist content, readers will be able to get an insight into what is happening in the industry and the many different activities across the BSI group of companies.
Trevor Elswood, BSI Managing Director, commented: “Working in partnership with the Travel Intelligence Network (TIN) with editorial leadership from Mark Harris, we are delighted to launch these new publications to the business travel and procurement industry.
“Over the last 24 years, the BSI group of companies has nurtured an enviable reputation in the business travel arena as innovative, market-leading specialists and we are delighted that these new publications illustrate our dedication to further grow the thriving industry.”
