The Hive magazine is launched
30 April 2008
The BSI group of companies has launched its new quarterly magazine called The Hive™ providing news, analysis, comment and debate on the accommodation, meetings & event management industry. Packed with features on key industry issues and developments, it will be distributed on a quarterly basis to key industry decision-makers and influencers through a combination of printed and electronic PDF copies.
Commenting on the launch of the new magazine, Trevor Elswood, group managing director, said: “The last couple of years has seen significant change within BSI and the launch of The Hive™ celebrates the development of BSI as a specialist hotel booking agency into a group of companies focused on delivering specialist consultancy and fulfilment solutions across the accommodation, meetings & event management marketplace. The name itself – The Hive™ – signifies that the group is now a structured community swarming with activity.”
The Hive™ is edited by Mark Harris and published for the BSI group of companies by the Travel Intelligence Network. Mark has been a communications specialist in the business travel industry since 1990 and is a partner in Travel Intelligence Network. In 2005 Mark edited the BSI Big Book – the first reference book for corporate buyers of hotel accommodation and meetings space – and in 2006 was voted Buying Business Travel magazine’s ‘Business Travel Personality of the Year’. He is the editor of a number of publications including the quarterly magazine of the Institute of Travel Management and also works with the Hotel Booking Agents Association.
A team of highly experienced guest writers will also contribute articles to each issue of the magazine. During 2008 these will include Bob Papworth (Business Travel Journalist of the Year), Ian Sclater and Dave Richardson – all of whom feature regularly in business travel industry media.
