BSI Honoured as Best Hotel Booking Agency for Second Year Running
02 February 2011
Specialist praised for commitment to service excellence
BSI has been crowned ‘Best Hotel Booking Agency’ for the second year running at the recent 2011 Buying Business Travel Awards, which took place at a gala event held at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel.
The panel of judges which included prominent industry journalists and leaders within procurement and travel praised BSI for “its commitment to service excellence, particularly in response to its annual ‘Voice of the Customer’ survey results”.
The survey enables BSI to fully understand customer needs and issues, processes and booking behaviours allowing a highly targeted approach to BSI’s significant investment in innovation and technology. In 2010 alone, BSI delivered more than 40 system enhancements to its online booking tool, BSIDirect™, resulting in lower costs and optimisation of compliance for the benefit of BSI customers.
BSIDirect™ online meetings technology incorporating internal meeting space management has also been shortlisted for a 2011 Innovation Award at February’s Business Travel & Meetings Show.
Judges were also “impressed with BSI’s IT integration, Total Cost of Stay calculator and ‘green’ initiatives that encourage suppliers to do the same”. The acknowledgment follows BSI’s 2010 launch of CO2 reporting on hotels, further technological system integrations, and the calculator enabling online users to evaluate multiple hotels/venues based on inclusive/exclusive required items such as breakfast, car parking or Wi-Fi and taxi costs.
BSI’s Managing Director, Trevor Elswood, commented: “I am thrilled to collect the award on behalf of BSI for the second year in a row. This accolade reinforces the BSI brand leadership in this specialist arena and demonstrates our commitment to developments in technology and innovation, strategic account management and supply chain management”.
“BSI experienced good growth during yet another difficult 12 months for the business travel sector, highlighting the significant benefits of the specialist hotel agency. To be recognised as the ‘best’ by such a prominent line up of judges is testament to the hard work and talent of BSI’s people, delivering day in day out service consistency and unquestionable value and courtesy to our customers.”
James Parkhouse, Business Director of Capita Group’s travel and conferences business concluded: “This award is fantastic news for BSI. It not only validates Capita Group’s decision to acquire the business and commit to the continued BSI brand identity but also acts as a ringing endorsement of the business’ specialist accommodation and meetings proposition.”
