    BSI Launches Traveller & Meetings Tracking Tool

    BSI, leading procurement specialist in corporate and public sector accommodation, meetings and event management, has introduced industry-leading measures to heighten clients’ control of and commitment to guest security and duty of care.  

    BSI already helps clients by tracking and reporting the location of employees travelling on business and they are now empowering clients to do this in real-time via the online BSI Traveller and Meetings Tracker™.

    By working with BSI, clients can now demonstrate their dedication to duty of care with a tangible increase in their security mechanisms through BSI’s new system.  The web based tool empowers BSI clients by notifying nominated client personnel of security threats and giving them the ability to locate business travellers in the event of an emergency scenario such as a security alert or, even, adverse weather conditions which may create travel restrictions.

    BSI Traveller and Meetings Tracker™ utilises BSI’s advanced geo-coded database systems enabling client reservations to be plotted on a global map with zoom functionality to assist in locating and identifying employees potentially affected by an emergency or security incident.  Multiple colour-coded icons differentiate between the associated risk with red icons highlighting areas with major ongoing security issues or with an immediate security threat and, at the other end of the scale, green icons indicating a safe area. 

    Authorised users can download an Excel format report of guests/delegates affected by a particular incident and run their own custom searches to find people staying within a set radius of a certain location.  The tool will also identify employees scheduled to travel to risk areas thus enabling clients make informed decisions regarding their travel plans.

    This is particularly relevant now that businesses are required to adhere to tougher corporate manslaughter regulations and are also increasingly encouraged to outline their duty of care to employees as part of their business strategy with liability now firmly placed at the door of directors.
