BSI Retains Fujitsu Services Contract
23 August 2011
Following competitive tender, Fujitsu Services, one of Europe’s leading IT services companies, has re-appointed BSI as the sole specialist provider of accommodation, conference, training facilities and venue finding services in the UK.
Originally awarded the contract in late 2008, Fujitsu has cited BSI’s strengths in supporting Sourcing to deliver the necessary behavioural changes within Fujitsu’s booker/traveller community in order to drive compliance and cost savings.
John Moss, head of services sourcing at Fujitsu Services, commented: “Fujitsu Services’ strategy is to drive down costs without compromising on quality and previous experience tells us that BSI provides the ideal solution. They have been key in supporting the behavioural change required by communicating and robustly applying Fujitsu’s revised policy to drive compliance. They’ve also delivered an impressive 16% saving on our last year’s spend, whilst maintaining the high quality requirements expected by our travellers and bookers alike”.
Fujitsu Sourcing have engaged with key Fujitsu Services stakeholders, including the Board and HR to introduce various policy enhancements and gain booker and traveller buy-in to improve compliance to the programme. Fujitsu also empowered BSI to engage with suppliers to renegotiate rates and improve their hotel programme. BSI has been able to drive volume into ‘most cost effective’ hotels both online and offline with a preferred programme utilising the BSI total cost of stay formula to formulate the ranking and drive maximum savings potential.
Sam Welch, BSI’s head of account management said: “We are thrilled to continue working with Fujitsu Services. From the very beginning, Fujitsu Services Sourcing has understood and taken advantage of the strategic account management that BSI offers. We are committed to understanding and delivering what’s important to our customers and we are already working in partnership with Fujitsu Sourcing to ensure that we continue to achieve sustainable savings and service excellence”.
