    BSI Strengthens Meetings & Event Offering

    Extensive customer engagement, coupled with new business successes gained from the integrated marriage of BSI’s procurement expertise in the meetings arena and Olive360o’s creative event management services, has led to the decision to consolidate all group services under one unified brand from November this year.

    BSI acquired Olive360o in 2007 to complement the group’s venue placement service as part of a wider strategy to deliver convergence across accommodation, meetings and event management, incorporating event logistics, creative design and event production. 

    Through its specialist centres in London and Cheadle the newly cemented BSI Meetings & Event Management service provides a fully integrated creative event solution and first class venue finding and meetings management.  With a current turnover in excess of £50m in meetings and events, this broad and compelling solution will appeal to both industry procurement and event organiser audiences alike.

    Commenting on the decision Paul Hussey, Director of Business Development – MICE said: “The clarity of adopting a single brand identity ensures that technology innovations can be rolled out seamless and efficiently, prevents brand confusion in the marketplace and positions BSI as a thought leader on converged cost control and creativity in the MICE arena.”

    Whilst BSI is well-respected as a technology innovator – with real-time online venue booking capability with unique live availability, online diary planning to prevent meeting clashes, internal meeting space management and online delegate tracking tool to deliver customers’ duty of care expectations – Elswood emphasised the importance of people talent in delivering events that dazzle.  “Technology undoubtedly plays a part but events are all about people communicating with people and we at BSI recognise the important part our people play in delivering creative and innovative events which deliver both the wow factor and a return on investment.”

    Other BSI trading brands such as International Reservations (specialist HBA based in Nottingham), Abode (serviced apartment booking service) and ICOR (procurement consultancy and programme management service) will also revert to the BSI brand for simpler brand positioning and customer transparency.
