BSI Secures Contract with Fujitsu Services
30 October 2008
Fujitsu Services, one of Europe’s leading IT services companies, has appointed BSI as the sole provider of accommodation, conference, training facilities and venue finding services in the UK.
The contract was awarded to BSI based on the company’s innovative, end-to-end technological solutions and a committed approach to raising policy compliance, increasing added-value and lowering expenditure.
BSI’s dedicated Fujitsu team, based at the Cheadle Centre of Excellence, is already re-negotiating Fujitsu rates and applying ‘best-rates’ i.e. improving on specific client negotiated rates. BSI’s efforts have seen a reduction in rate creep of 10% within the first three months of BSI taking over from the incumbent agent. At the end of this initial three month period, BSI is able to project substantial savings for Fujitsu by the end of the contract’s first year.
BSIDirect™, BSI’s user-friendly online self-booking tool, has also been implemented at Fujitsu to influence long term savings by driving policy compliance and reducing transactional costs along with delivering arranger convenience. The tool offers Fujitsu employees their negotiated rates as well as significantly discounted rates across a UK and international accommodation and venue database of over 85,000 properties. Fujitsu’s online adoption of the tool is already at 38%.
John Moss, Head of Services Sourcing at Fujitsu Services, commented: “We were looking to find a partner that was committed to our Sourcing strategy of driving down costs whilst maintaining quality and BSI made a perfect fit. BSI has already evolved behavioural change by robustly applying Fujitsu’s policy, thereby driving compliance.
John continued: “BSI has made themselves fully accountable for delivering savings, and as such, have made significant progress in improving the control in key demand areas.”
BSI’s Group Managing Director, Trevor Elswood said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to assist Fujitsu in introducing positive changes which will deliver immediate and long term savings. Alongside activities to drive compliance and produce lower average room rates, effective allocation management and ongoing hotel programme management and recommendations are also key in BSI’s proactive approach to the Fujitsu contract”.
