Online is On Message at BSI

BSI's latest version and release of BSIDirect™ hotel specialist booking tool has underpinned a significant rise in Client Online bookings. The new tool which boasts many industry firsts was launched on the 5th January 2010 – Trevor Elswood BSI’s Group MD says “ we set ourselves some clear goals in the design and build. We extensively engaged with our services users and found out what stopped them using Online services and for current users what we could just do better. The result is a new BSI Online tool second to none in the global arena – and in just 4 weeks we have exceeded our migration targets with Online levels reaching closer to 50% of our total business.”
Elswood points to a fantastic team effort “our development team got under the skin of our clients to understand their requirements and booking behaviours, and then translated that understanding into a highly intuitive tool that’s quick, informative and easy to use. Our E-Migration team have worked tirelessly to running online coaching and education awareness programmes to great effect”
Elswood points to recent trends “ there is a renewed energy from the Corporate market to drive greater Online adoption – lower/ no agency fees, client empowerment and some of the highest procurement controls in industry built within the BSI technology position BSI well to take advantage of this Online trend”.
But Elswood warns “ that Online for Online sake is not the answer, hence the increased focus and interest in BSI’s technology advancements and the integrations achieved with KDS and Traveldoo self booking travel portals which allow clients to have Online without compromise in the hotel sector – with stronger rate control and programme management in the ‘specialist’ BSI Online environment”
